Tourism Development
Projects must strengthen use of existing tourism industry or create new tourism
opportunities. Eligible expenses include: Development of tourism attraction or
amenity consistent with the long range Tourism Development Plan, renovation or
acquisition of historical sites/buildings, furnishing of museums, expansion of visitor
centers, development of parks and recreation facilities, feasibility studies, travel
associated with research, development plans, exhibit design plans, consultation
services, operating expenses, or other capital improvements. Expenses that are not
eligible for funding include: salaries, the value of “in kind” services, in-house costs, any
items for resale, or alcoholic beverages.
